RF Design and Engineering

Signalscape’s RF Engineering team provides microwave, radio frequency, and wireless communication design, engineering, and performance analysis for commercial and military applications.

Our design experience includes system architecture, receiver and transmitter design, custom microwave filter implementation, and digital synthesizer design including direct digital synthesis.

Our personnel have extensive experience with many types of communications systems including TDMA, CDMA and TDD. In addition to RF Design and Engineering, we can also build complete systems from concept to production for both military and commercial applications. Our RF Design services include:

Signalscape’s RF Engineering team has direct design experience with most wireless standards and protocols including: 802.11 (WLAN), Bluetooth, GSM, CDMA, GPS, RFID, DECT, TDMA, MESH Networks, and Telemetry.

Analog and Digital Hardware Design

Signalscape’s Hardware Engineering team has extensive experience designing complex digital circuits and microprocessors using both proprietary and standard interfaces, as well as A/Ds, D/As, filters, and amplifiers.

We routinely develop A/D and D/A circuits with conversion rates as high as 12.5 MHz. We have also worked with analog signals and signal processing in the region of 100 kHz and less.

Our digital designs are based on micro-controllers and DSPs interfaced with DRAM, SRAM, Flash RAM, discrete logic, UARTs, LCD controllers, and other peripherals. Most designs include signal processing functions, protocols, and logic for proprietary and standard interfaces. Our microprocessor projects typically use ARM microprocessors, Texas Instruments DSPs, Analog Devices DSPs, and Custom logic peripherals.

Signalscape has extensive experience with FPGA and System-On-Chip (SOC) firmware designs operating at speeds up to 100 MHz using high-density Altera and Xilinx components. Our team routinely develops circuits using the following:

NetSnap Circuit Board
  • VHDL
  • Synchronous RTL
  • Verilog
  • Synthesis using Synopsys and Synplicity
  • Xilinx FPGAs with external microprocessor and DSPs
  • Custom logic synthesized to Xilinx FPGAs

Signalscape also writes synchronous RTL in VHDL and uses Synopsys Design Compiler tools for scan insertion synthesis. Our personnel also have experience working with ASIC vendors such as Texas Instruments for ASIC fabrication.
